900 Documenting Escalation Status in Acute Urology Admissions with Known Urological Malignancy

Abstract Introduction Knowledge of a patient's escalation status including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and invasive ventilation is crucial to ensure appropriate management. Patients with pre-existing advanced prostate or bladder cancer are often elderly frail, even more so in the context an acute admission hospital. This audit aims establish how many patients admitted acutely under urology at large district general hospital known cancers, had their statuses appropriately documented. Method We performed retrospective over ten-week period. included all diagnosis cancer. Results Of 30 included, 4 (13.3%) completed forms. All were on admission. Conclusions Escalation was poorly documented for this cohort patients. likely due number issues pressure service confusion about who can should make these decisions. That forms highlights that be best opportunity junior doctors must encouraged complete time decisions subsequently ratified by consultant within 24 hours. Moving forward, intervention clearly needed.
